At 29, Julia Jackson, proprietor of the family owned Jackson Family Wines is already making headlines and making a name for herself as one someone who is truly passionate about making and selling the best wines in the world. Julia Jackson has been interested in the wine businesses since she was a young child. She fondly remembers her father taking her and her siblings out to the vineyards to pick grapes when she was a young child, in order to give them a sense of the hard work it takes to run a winery. When Julia grew up she went on to study at Scripps College and graduated in 2010 with a degree in studio art, before getting a summer certificate at the Stanford Summer Institute of General Management. Julia Jackson has been able to combine her love of art in wine, by focusing on the art of wine. She also collaborated with Helene Seillan to design the label for Cynth wines, which is produced under Jackson Family Wines.
Inspired by her mother, who was a pivotal force in her life and is a powerful female leader, Jackson founded Cambria Seeds of Empowerment in 2014. This foundation works with Cambria Winery, which is part of the Jackson Family Wines, to help empower female leaders around the globe. The foundation focuses on women who are trying to fight their way out of poverty. She also acknowledges that the wine industry is very male dominated despite the fact that there are many women, including Julia’s mother and sister who are a large part of the Cambria business. Cambria Seeds of Empowerment is another way for Julia Jackson to help change that.
